“I was expecting a delivery of my home appliances LED TV, washing machine and fridge yesterday but I waited and no one called me up for delivery, nor anyone informed me that there was a delay in the delivery. This is really unacceptable. No one bothered to inform me of the delivery status. I called the store that I purchased the appliances from, but no one picked up the whole afternoon. I even tried their hotline, but I was made to wait so long I hung up the phone.

I went down to one of the stores the next day and they told me that the washing machine was out of stock! I have already paid a deposit of $800 for all 3 items, so they should have already reserved the items for me. They told me to consider buying another washing machine! This is ridiculous.

In addition, I paid an extra $10 for the delivery to be made on a public holiday. I am not particular about the extra cost, but I feel that I wasted the whole afternoon waiting for delivery to be made. It was a public holiday and I feel that I could have made full use of it. This is one of the worst services I have ever encountered with them. I was quite angry and I asked for a refund on the spot. It was given to me and I think I will never shop from them again.

My friend recommended that I go to Audio House and I am glad that I purchased from them. Their services were really good, and the staff were very helpful. They recommended appliances that suit both my budget and needs. I am very happy with my purchases. If you want a good buy, go to Audio House.”

3rd victim of acid burn in Singapore?

    20120330.151442_wanbao_burn

A nurse has been hospitalised with burns after sitting on an unknown substance in an SMRT train. Last month, a teenager suffered burns on his thigh after sitting on what could have been acid at a Bukit Batok bus stop.

A similar incident involving a Malaysian woman occurred in March last year. She had similarly been burned by an unidentified liquid on the MRT, leaving her with burns on her buttocks.

There is a possibility that someone is deliberately trying to cause injury to others through the use of strong acids. We hope that the authorities will take action immediately.

Please share and warn your family and friends about this.

Why Huang Wen Yong’s death has caused such an emotional stir in Singapore

It was with much regret when we first broke the news of his death. The first response from netizens was, “How could this be true?” Then it dawned on us that his departure is real, something that we cannot comprehend at first. It was too sudden.

          1. Rumours, rumours back in March 2013. Fans were enraged when online posts announced that he had died of cancer. So when his actual death was announced on 20th April, no one believed it at first. When it was officially announced on the major news channels, we realised that we have lost a great actor, a great entertainer.
          2. Fans from the non-Chinese community. Huang Wen Yong has numerous fans in Singapore and Malaysia. There were also numerous well wishes from the non-Chinese community. His reach in the non-Chinese community is something not many local Chinese celebrities can achieve.
          3. Popular on screen couples with Chen Li Ping and Xiang Yun. Even though he might not be the most popular comedian in Singapore, his on screen scenes with Chen Li Ping and Xiang Yun make them one of the most popular couples in Singapore of all times. The most memorable dramas include Just in Singapore (一房半廳一水缸), Joys of Life (花样人间) and the Awakening (雾锁南洋
          4. The unfulfilled promise. He has expressed that he will be attending the Star Awards on 21st April, but it seems like this wish can never be fulfilled. He was also nominated as Best Supporting Actor in the Star Awards on 28th April for his role in Joys Of Life.
          5. He has also received an award for the “Top 10 Favourite Male Artist Award” in Star Awards 2011. This could signal a change in his career path, especially when he has been nominated many times but has only received recognition in terms of popularity in recent years.
          6. Many of us grow up watching his dramas. He is one of the first few actors to join the acting industry in Singapore and remains active till this year. It takes a lot of hard work and perseverance to become what he was today. People from all walks of life, young and old, know who he was.

His funeral wake is being held at Teochew Funeral Parlour at 10 Ubi Road 4 until Wednesday morning. Please pay your last respects to the actor who has once made you laughed or cried.

You will be greatly missed as the most accomplished actor in Singapore’s history.

This is a personal opinion from us. Please feel free to share this article if you do agree with us.
